Archaeological Museum of Corfu
The Archaeological Museum of Corfu was built between 1962 - 1965.
The edifice is located at Armeni Vraila 1 and it was opened in 1967. Its building was built in order to host the Gorgon pediment of the Artemis temple, brought to light at Palaiopolis in the beginning of the 20th century. The museum was expanded with 2 more chambers, in 1994. These large rooms will exhibit the discoveries from the excavations of the ancient town and the Garitsa cemetery.
